Uniting four divisions under one common purpose

Ekso Bionics develops and manufactures exoskeleton bionic devices that augment human strength, mobility and endurance. These wearable robots have a variety of applications in the medical, military, industrial and consumer markets.

With a business spanning four different industries, selling to different audiences in B2B, B2C and B2B2C channels, the first priority was to find a common purpose, under which to unite the various lines of business. With Brand Positioning in place the full corporate portfolio could be better organized around the brand promise ‘Realizing Human Potential’.

Developing the Brand Architecture included analyzing connections between the Ekso Bionics brand and its products and services. The goal was to consolidate the number of brands to maximize marketing efficiency, while giving each brand the necessary independence for optimized success.

This comprehensive system allowed Ekso Bionics not only to structure its existing brand portfolio, but provided a process for dealing with future acquisitions or extensions of the portfolio.

Capabilities / As Strategy lead I conducted all research, composed and presented Findings, facilitated the Client Workshops, authored Positioning  and Architecture Scenarios, briefed Creative, and oversaw the development of messaging for later applications.
